This adorable “egg-in-a-hole” by @twoofakindcooks is extra special with a heart. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to achieve this special breakfast for a loved one.
RECIPE:
1. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, remove the center of a thick slice of bread.
2. Melt 1 teaspoon butter in a fry pan over medium heat. Place bread slice and cutout in pan and cook until the underside is lightly browned.
3. Add another teaspoon butter to the pan and flip bread slice and cutout.
4. Coat the inside of the cookie cutter with nonstick spray and place in bread slice. Crack an egg into the cookie cutter and cook until the egg is set. Keep an eye on the bread cutout as it may cook more quickly than the egg, in which case you should remove it from the pan. Use tongs to carefully remove the cookie cutter.
