ingredients

  • 1 14.5 ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed, plus 1/4 cup reserved black bean liquid
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cacao powder
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate chips, to top

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.

  • Step 2

    In a blender, combine the black beans, black bean liquid, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, packed brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Blend until smooth.

  • Step 3

    Transfer batter to the prepared baking pan and top with chocolate chips. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out dry and the sides start to pull away from the pan.

  • Step 4

    Allow to cool completely at room temperature before slicing.

  • Step 5

    Store in the fridge for up to 1 week. Enjoy!
