A Note From feedfeed
As a community driven, digital food publication, it will come as no surprise that myself and the rest of the team here at The Feedfeed spend a lot of time engaging with, and getting to know the community that makes us who we are. As head of community, one of my favorite things to do, is to make meaningful connections across our community, which is how the story of this Instagram Live unfolded.
Dorie and Zoë are in a class of their own when it comes to cooking & both are beacons for us home cooks. I met Zoë more than a year ago during our time working on Driscoll’s, and over the time I’ve known her, I have marveled at all she has accomplished, her skill and the pure joy that she shares with the baking community. Dorie, on the other hand, is someone who I have followed for a long time on social, and in real life (across her many writings, cookbooks and even back to the time when a guest once brought her cookies from Essex Street Market to a dinner party I hosted) - but other than a quick hello at IACP this past spring & exchanging DM’s on Instagram, Dorie and I had never formally spent time together IRL.
When organizing a trip to NYC for Zoë to come to our SunSpire Workshop and to host a Live with us at FeedfeedBrooklyn for her latest book, it dawned on me, after seeing this post on Zoë’s feed, that it would be a true pinch me moment if both Zoë and Dorie could cook together, in our kitchen from their latest books “Holiday and Celebration Breads in Five Minutes A Day” & “Everyday Dorie”. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would be standing there, sandwiched between two legends introducing them to our global community - it was, without a doubt in my mind, the highest privilege and honor that I’ve had to date. What was to unfold was not only informative about cooking, but also a palpable chemistry shared in a way that can only inspire one to get up and start cooking in the kitchen.
