Bring on the bourbon because it doesn't get any more festive than this! This Bourbon Apple Shrub Punch made with Autumn Glory Apples is the perfect holiday cocktail and could even make a great gift for your favorite host too.

For the apple shrub:

ingredients

  • 3 Autumn Glory Apples, skin on, shredded
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar (with the ‘mother’ if you can find it)
  • 3/4 cup raw cane sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 3 “coins” of fresh ginger (about ¼ inch thick), lightly crushed

For the apple shrub:

Method

  • Step 1

    Add all of the ingredient to a quart sized mason jar and seal with an air tight lid. Shake the contents vigorously then set in the fridge for 2 days. After 2 days strain the apple mixture and discard the solids. Store in a clean and sterilized air tight jar in the fridge for up to 3 months.

For the punch:

ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups bourbon
  • 1/2 cup prepared apple shrub
  • 1/4 cup apple brandy
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 4 dashes bitters
  • 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
  • Fresh nutmeg, to taste
  • 1 Autumn Glory Apples
  • Fresh mint, (for garnish

For the punch:

  • Step 1

    Combine bourbon, apple shrub, apple brandy, apple cider, orange juice and bitters in a large punch bowl. Stir to combine, then add ice. Top with sparkling water and garnish with nutmeg, fresh apples and fresh mint before serving.
