As Women's History Month comes to a close, we are proud to share an array of women-owned, women-run brands in our Shop. From zingy condiments inspired by the flavors of Sichuan cuisine, to stunning colored glassware and your new favorite chile powder, here are a few favorites we are excited to stock on our shelves.


 

BRIGHTLAND OLIVE OIL
Brightland was born out of Aishwarya Iyer's desire for better, more honest food production - and a deep belief in the land and what it provides. Her ancestors were salt farmers in South India; the land provided for them, and in turn they provided salt for people in the South. It’s a beautiful cycle when left untouched.
 
JUST DATE
While working on the recipe for a tamarind date chutney, Sylvie Charles created a syrup out of medjool dates. It struck her that it was what her community needed - an absolutely delicious natural sweetener that had the low glycemic index and nutrient content of medjool dates. 

SEED + MILL
Founders, Lisa, Rachel, and Monica started in a small kiosk in New York’s bustling Chelsea Market. They were determined to show Americans how versatile and delicious clean, natural, tahini and halva could be. 
 
GROUND UP PDX
Ground Up is a not-just-for-profit business that provides job training to womxn overcoming adversity in the Portland area. Through the sale of healthy and delicious nut butters, they empower womxn with the confidence and skills they need to get back on their feet.
BOONVILLE BARN COLLECTIVE
Farm to Jar chile powder. There’s no middlemen, no international supply chains, and no co-packers - just quality, hard to find chile powders from a husband and wife duo and their farm in the small town of Boonville, CA. Their main spice? California grown Espelette pepper known as Piment d’Ville.
 
FLY BY JING
Meet Jing, the creator of Fly by Jing, which makes the first 100% all-natural Sichuan chili sauce, proudly crafted in Chengdu. It's hot, spicy, crispy, numbing and deliciously savory. Intensely flavorful yet not off-the-charts spicy, it’ll make your food taste bolder and the world around you seem a little bit brighter.

ESTELLE COLORED GLASS
Stephanie Summerson Hall is the founder and designer of Estelle Colored Glass. Estelle is named in honor of Hall's grandmother, a consummate hostess, and collector of antique colored glass. All Estelle glassware is handblown by artisans in Poland and destined to shine like jewels on your table.
 
DIASPORA CO.
Diaspora Co. spices, founded in 2017 by Sana Javeri Kadri with a mission "to create a radically new, and equitable vision of the spice trade, decolonizing a commodity back into a seasonal crop, and a broken system into an equal exchange."
GIRL MEETS DIRT
Girl Meets Dirt was born of the land. Grew limbs through storms, gained strength with rain, knowledge with history, rootedness with dirt under her fingernails. Seedlings rose, and bore fruit. And she watched, curious & hungry, and learned the art of stretching bounty into winter. 
JOJO'S SRIRACHA
Jojo's chili peppers are harvested in-season and fermented for several months. Jojo uses her knowledge of chili peppers and fermentation to create unique flavors of sriracha that celebrate local agriculture and the uniqueness of real food.
OPEN KITCHEN BY SUSAN SPUNGEN
An open kitchen, whether physical or spiritual, is a place to welcome company, to enjoy togetherness and the making of a meal. This classic yet innovative cookbook is filled with practical tips and Susan's "get-ahead" cooking philosophy.
