ingredients
- 2 cups minced napa cabbage
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 ounces minced shiitake mushrooms
- 1/2 tablespoon kosher salt
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 2 scallions
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Dumpling wrappers
Dipping Sauce
ingredients
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
Method
Step 1
In a bowl, mix Napa cabbage, ground pork, mushrooms, salt, minced garlic, ginger, scallions, sugar, sesame oil and ground black pepper. Mix with your hands until it has a paste like consistency.
Step 2
Take a dumpling wrapper and add 2 tsp of filling. With your finger, wet the edges of the dumpling and create pleats along the edge. Place the dumpling on a plate and shape it into a half moon. Repeat until the filling is gone.
Step 3
In a large pan on medium-high heat, add 2 tbsp of oil and add about 12 dumplings. Add ½ cup water and cover with lid. Let the dumplings steam for 3 minutes and remove the lid. Continue cooking the dumplings for 3-5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
Step 4
Serve hot with dipping sauce!
