Growing up, I never really ate mainstream desserts like chocolate cake or apple pie. My favourite and most familiar desserts were sweet red bean soups, red bean filled moon cakes, pastries and buns. I absolutely love the ingredient's subtle sweetness and flavour, and it is definitely my go-to ingredient in pies, cakes and any other dessert that I can think of and want to experiment with. Hope this feed inspires more red bean recipes - it is definitely an underutilized ingredient!
