- 1 cup cranberries, (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup water
- pinch granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch salt
- 8 thick slices brioche
- 1/2 cup Nutella®, divided for filling, plus more for serving
- 2 tablespoons butter, Thinly sliced
- for garnish Confectioners’ sugar
Method
Step 1
Add cranberries to the skillet over medium heat with water and a pinch of sugar.
Step 2
Toss cranberries in skillet for 2-3 minutes to soften.
Step 3
Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pinch of salt together in a shallow bowl.
Step 4
In a 10-12 inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Step 5
Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture, then transfer to a skillet to fry on both sides until golden brown.
Step 6
Set aside slices to prepare to stuff French toast.
Step 7
Spread a thin layer of Nutella on each piece of toast, then cut in half.
Step 8
Add cranberries and strawberries to one half of toast.
Step 9
Next, add the other slice of bread to the top and sprinkle confectioners’ sugar.
