The days are getting longer and hotter as we inch towards summer, so cool down with a refeshing mezcal cocktail that is sweet, subtly herbaceous from the basil, and bubbly! These would be perfect to serve at a happy hour or a summer brunch!

ingredients
- 2 ounces mezcal
- 1/2 ounce monkfruit simple syrup, or simple syrup
- 3/4 ounce lime juice
- 5 basil leaves
- 3 ounces fresh cantaloupe juice
- Topo Chico, as needed, for topping
Method
Step 1
In your shaker, add mezcal, simple syrup, lime juice, basil leaves, and cantaloupe and muddle.
Step 2
Once muddled, add ice and shake.
Step 3
Add ice to a glass and double strain into the glass.
Step 4
Top with desired Topo Chico
Step 5
Garnish with lime wheel and basil leaves
