Baked Donuts with Nutella®

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 brown sugar
  • 1 large at room temperature egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup at room temperature milk
  • 4 tablespoon Nutella, for drizzling


  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.

  • Step 2

    Add flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda to a bowl. Whisk to combine and set aside.

  • Step 3

    In a separate bowl, add brown sugar and egg. Whisk to combine. Add vanilla extract, melted butter, and milk. Whisk to combine.

  • Step 4

    Combine the dry and wet ingredients and mix until there are no more flour pockets. Be careful not to overmix.

  • Step 5

    Spoon the batter into donut pan, filling each mold about ¾ of the way.

  • Step 6

    Place in the middle rack of the oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Turn donuts out onto a wire cooling rack and let cool completely.

  • Step 8

    Fill a piping or ziptop bag with Nutella® and drizzle on top of each donut.
