It's hard to say what the best part about French Onion Soup is. Is it the melted cheese (traditionally Comté) that gets browned on top, or the loads of sweet onions soaking in broth? Or is it the croutons that melt in the mouth? Well, it's probably all it, which is why this classic soup is one of our favorites. It hits all the flavor and texture notes, and there's nothing more comforting in the winter.
