ingredients
- 6 bao buns, steamed
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite size pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 Lebanese cucumbers, sliced
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Seasame seeds, for garnish
- 3 tablespoons Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayonnaise
Method
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the chicken thighs with the soy sauce, the garlic and the eggs.
Step 2
In another bowl, whisk together the flour and the cornstarch. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Add the chicken to the flour mixture and mix until the chicken is well coated. Remove excess flour and set the chicken pieces aside.
Step 4
In a deep pan, heat up about an inch of oil to 350°F.
Step 5
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces in batches and fry 2-3 minutes on both sides or until golden and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on paper towels.
Step 6
Assemble the bao buns with the sriracha mayonnaise, crispy chicken, and cucumbers. Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds.
