Sometimes I’m a day late for toast Tuesday, sometimes a day early, but never actually on time lol. But to be honest toast is a good idea on any day of the week so there is no complaining to be done here 😂. -@earthofmariaa

Buy ingredients
Add ingredients directly to your favorite online grocery cart (where available).


  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 medium onions
  • 21/4 cups mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 cup almond milk, or oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 8 slices bread, toasted


  • Step 1

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Sauté onion for 2 minutes, then add mushrooms and tamari. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, until softened, then add in oat milk and cornstarch, stirring until thickened.

  • Step 2

    Spread mushrooms and sauce over toast.
