It's made with chocolate, sugar and chickpeas. The chickpeas adds the creaminess and body that we all love in a chocolate mousse.

  • 125 grams dark chocolate
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1/3 cup sugar


  • Step 1

    Chop chocolate and add to a bowl over a small pan of simmering water. While it’s melting, drain chickpeas into a bowl, saving the liquid/aquafaba from the can.

  • Step 2

    Add the chickpea liquid to a stand mixer or use a handheld whisk, whisking for 7-8 mins until soft peaks form.

  • Step 3

    Add in the sugar and whisk for another 2-3 mins until it thickens further to form stiff peaks.

  • Step 4

    Take chocolate off the heat once melted and set aside to cool for 2 mins.

  • Step 5

    Pour the melted chocolate into the whipped aquafaba, folding quickly to incorporate. Spoon into jars and set aside in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.
