"Hello, all. I’ve been quiet in this community for months (mostly because intern year has been grueling and takes my everything), but I wanted to check in during these unprecedented times. How are you all doing? As a resident physician in Boston, I’m seeing, first-hand, all the changes in practice, new protocols developed by the day, and more importantly the commitment and dedication of my colleagues. I won’t deny - I am scared and anxious. My husband is a resident physician at another Boston hospital. My twin sister is one in California. My thoughts go out to the community and healthcare system across the world. Now, more than ever we need to check in with each other, make sure to debrief and provide emotional support (virtually). It is a tumultuous times and I would urge everyone to take social distancing seriously. One of my neighbors, a fellow healthcare professional (HCP), had a raging party this weekend with definitely >25 people, and I was livid - we HAVE to keep each other accountable, and if we HCPs aren’t responsible, how can we expect non-medical professionals to do the same? Besides work and walking the dog (keeping safely 6ft away from others), I am trying to huddle indoors as much as possible, cooking more, exercising at home, thankful for all those frozen dumplings I made mostly for book testing (like these soup dumplings). **Opinions are my own, not reflective of where I work."
