Homemade Lavender Syrup:

  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender petals
  • 4 ounces hot water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or sugar substitute)

Method

To make the Cocktail:

  • Step 1

    Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer to chill.

  • Step 2

    In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka or gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and lavender syrup. Shake vigorously until well chilled.

  • Step 3

    Mix sugar and lemon zest on a small plate. Rim your glass with a lemon wedge, then dip it into the mixture to coat.

    Strain the cocktail into your chilled, rimmed glass.
