Spiced Pear Mocktail

Made with a spiced pear syrup and non alcholic whiskey, this spicy mocktail is perfect for Fall/Winter. Serve it at your brunch or cocktail party!

ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Peels from 1/2 an orange
  • 10 cloves, whole
  • 2 star anise
  • 3-4 sage sprigs

Mocktail

ingredients

  • 1 ounce spiced syrup
  • 1/4 ounce of lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces pear puree
  • 2 ounces non-alcoholic whiskey
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice
  • Optional: Garnish with pear slice.

Method

  • Step 1

    Thoroughly wash an orange. Peel one half and set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a small saucepan add water, sugar, orange peels, cloves, star anise, and sage sprigs.

  • Step 3

    Continue to summer over medium/high heat for 5-10 minutes. Note — I simmered for 10 minutes since I like my syrup thicker.

  • Step 4

    Allow to completely cool and then strain into an air tight container. · While cooling, wash & roughly chop one pear.

  • Step 5

    Add the pear slices and 2 oz of water into a blender. Blend until desired texture.

  • Step 6

    In your cocktail shaker add homemade syrup, lemon juice, ⁣pear puree, n/a whiskey of choice, an egg white (yes, an egg white lol) and dry shake until frothy.

  • Step 7

    Add ice and shake again. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with a pear slice.
