ingredients
- 1 pound store-bought pizza dough
- flour, as needed
- 1 cup Tuttorosso Crushed Tomatoes with Basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- red pepper flakes, to taste
- 2 cups mozarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup fresh basil, loosely packed leaves
- 1 cup fresh parsley, loosely packed leaves
- 1 clove of garlic, grated
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Lightly grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan with olive oil, then line with parchment paper.
Step 2
Lightly flour the work surface and roll the pizza dough out into a rectangle, about ¼ inch in thickness.
Step 3
Spread Tuttorosso Crushed Tomatoes with Basil all over the pizza dough, then sprinkle with dried oregano and red pepper flakes. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
Step 4
In the bowl of a food processor combine olive oil, fresh basil, parsley, and garlic. Process until smooth.
Step 5
Drizzle ¾ of the herb mixture all over the pizza dough, and set the remaining herb mixture aside. Cut the rectangle into squares, then stack 3-4 squares vertically. Place the stacked layers into the loaf pan, repeating the process until the pan is full.
Step 6
Bake for 30 minutes until the loaf is well browned and cooked through.
Step 7
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and brush with the remaining herb mixture. Serve warm.
