"I believe this is a delicious recipe for poeple who want to start to appreciate spirit forward cocktails. I'm not saying it isn't good for you if you already dig that type of drinks because I really liked it and let's say it's pretty much my favourite style of concoction. What I'm saying is its subtle fruity notes and floral sweetness will simply coax pretty much anyone who think strong cocktails are tough to drink."

Recipe Card

For the Blackberry Infused Bourbon

ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) bourbon
  • 2/3 cup blackberries

For the Cocktail

ingredients

  • 2 ounces blackberry infused bourbon
  • 1/2 (ounce) elderflower liqueur
  • 1/4 (ounce) Olorosso sherry
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Method

  • Step 1

    Stir all ingredients over ice for about 20 seconds. Strain in a chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with a blackberry.

  • Step 2

    To make the blackberry infused bourbon: In a tightly sealing container, pour the bourbon over the blackberries. Seal and let infuse for 24 hours. Strain and bottle. Will keep indefinitely.
