Pasta Marinara

  • 1/4 cup EVOO
  • 1 (28 oz) can San Marano Whole Tomatoes
  • 4 cloves finely chopped Garlic
  • Handful julienned fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried chili flakes
  • 1 whole cut in half white onion
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 pinch sugar


  • Step 1

    Add EVOO to sauce pan over medium heat with chili flakes and both halves the sliced onion (flat side down).

  • Step 2

    Once oil is heated, add minced garlic to pan and cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add in can of tomatoes and mash with wooden spoon as you stir them in.

  • Step 3

    Add in basil and salt and pinch of sugar. Reduce heat to low, cover, stirring occasionally and cook for about 60-90 minutes.
