Ingredients for Cherry Base

ingredients

  • 16 ounces bag frozen cherries
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 blood orange, juiced

Cherry Base

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2

    In a pot add all the ingredients to a stock pot over low heat.

  • Step 3

    Cook for 10 minutes until well incorporated.

  • Step 4

    Add to a 10" cast iron skillet

Ingredients for Topping

ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons dairy-free butter
  • gluten free flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup almond milk

Topping

  • Step 1

    In a bowl melt your butter.

  • Step 2

    Add the ingredients and mix well.

  • Step 3

    Scoop onto the cherries.

  • Step 4

    Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the top if slightly browned. Pull and serve.
