A twist on the traditional cranberry sauce, this chutney is easy to make and adds an unexpected punch that goes beautifully with turkey or cheese. We served it on our Nadia Platter from Room & Board.

ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 shallot or small red onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 water
- 1 tablespoon aged balsamic vinegar
Method
Step 1
Place the onion, cranberries, sugar and water in a saucepan
Step 2
Let simmer on very low heat for 25 minutes, occasionally stirring to make sure it doesn't burn.
Step 3
Remove from heat and add 1 tbs balsamic vinegar.
Step 4
Transfer to a bowl or jar and let it cool down.
