We’re obsessed with orange cocktails all year round! Lucky for us, Sunkist Valencia Oranges are the official citrus of summer, serving as the star ingredient in these Orange Mint Juleps. A bright syrup made with orange zest is muddled with mint before getting stirred up with freshly squeezed Valencia orange juice and a healthy pour of bourbon. It’s fresh, sweet, and will definitely lift your spirits!

For the Cocktail:

  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) orange syrup, recipe below
  • 1 sprig fresh mint, plus more for garnish
  • 1 orange slice, plus more for garnish
  • 2 Sunkist Valencia Oranges, juiced, about 1/2 cup
  • 1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) bourbon
  • Crushed ice, for serving

Method

  • Step 1

    In a Collins or wine glass, muddle together the orange syrup with the mint sprig and orange slice. Stir in the orange juice and bourbon, then fill with crushed ice and stir to chill. Garnish with a mint sprig and orange and serve.

For the Orange Syrup:

  • Step 1

    In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and orange zest with ½ cup water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until the sugar has dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. Let cool completely, then strain. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
