How-To Hull a Strawberry & make Strawberry Top Infused Whipped Cream
(1)

A Note From feedfeed

We're using Driscolls's Organic Strawberries to show you How to Hull a Strawberry and we used the tops to make strawberry top infused whipped cream! The strawberry tops give the whipped cream a slightly herbaceous flavor, which is perfect piled high on a flaky shortcake. Ever eaten a strawberry top before? They are great in smoothies, salads and even in pesto. This recipe and video is sponsored by our friends at Driscoll's

Makes 4 cups

Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
Strawberry tops and trimmings from 1 lb of Driscoll's Organic Strawberries, rinsed and dried
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
Place cream in a small saucepan and add strawberry trimmings. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then cover and remove from heat. Let steep for 30 minutes, then transfer to a small bowl let sit in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour.

Once cream has chilled, strain the mix into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment. Discard strawberry tops. Add sugar and begin whisking; start slow and increase the speed to medium-high. When soft peaks start to form, stop the machine and add vanilla. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
