Method

  • Step 1

    Start by heating your seasoned cast iron or non stick skillet on medium heat. Sprinkle half of the coconut or brown sugar in the bottom of your skillet. Add your figs face down and let them caramelize as the sugar melts. ( about 5 minutes) Top with remaining sugar then flip to caramelize on other side.

  • Step 2

    For the dressing: In a cup mix together olive oil, date vinegar and honey Pour in the same skillet you used to caramelize the figs and reduce for 1 minute. Return to your cup. In the same pan, toss hazelnuts with 2 tsp of olive oil for 1 minute

  • Step 3

    In a salad bowl: Toss your greens together Top with crumbled goat cheese Carefully add caramelized Figs. Add hazelnuts. Drizzle dressing over your salad salad and enjoy the richness and extra sweetness of caramelized figs balanced out by the tartness of goat cheese!

  • 1 pint Fresh figs
  • 2 cups Baby spinach
  • 1 cup Of arugula
  • 6 ounces Goat cheese
  • 1 tbsp Coconut/brown sugar
  • 1/2 Roasted Hazelnuts
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Date or balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • dash of Salt
  • 2 Olive oil
