ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 16 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch

Method

  • Step 1

    Mix corn starch with 2 Tbs milk until no lumps remain and set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a small sauce pan combine cream, milk, vanilla, and sugar and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  • Step 3

    Lower temperature to medium-low, add chocolate and corn starch mixture and whisk consistently (to avoid burning) until melted, fully combined and silky smooth (about 5 minutes).

  • Step 4

    Serve warm topped with whipped cream (if desired).
