  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon quick rise yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Step 1

    In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, honey, and melted butter. Whisk together.

  • Step 2

    Sprinkle quick rise yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy. Whisk again.

  • Step 3

    Add the egg and whisk until well combined.

  • Step 4

    Pour in flour and salt, stirring until a sticky dough forms.

  • Step 5

    Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for an hour or until doubled in size.

  • Step 6

    Transfer the dough to a floured surface, spreading it evenly to about 1/2-1 inch thick.

  • Step 7

    Using a mason jar or cup, cut out circles of the dough to make 4 English muffins.

  • Step 8

    Cook in a cast iron skillet over low heat, covering and flipping each side for 6 minutes.

  • Step 9

    Enjoy warm or store room temperature muffins in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
