ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup divided cinnamon toast crunch cereal
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablesp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teasopon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablesp milk
Method
Step 1
Preheat waffle iron. Spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2
In a small bowl, add milk and ½ cup of cereal. Allow cereal to soak in milk for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Whisk egg until light in color, and fluffy. Add in oil, cereal/milk mixture and maple syrup. Mix until combined.
Step 4
Add in remaining ingredients – flour, baking powder, salt, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix just until combined. Fold in remaining ½ cup of cereal.
Step 5
Pour mixture into prepared waffle iron and cook according to manufacturers directions.
Step 6
Cinnamon Sugar Glaze Whisk together all ingredients for the glaze (1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon granulated sugar, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon milk) until smooth. Pour over waffles and enjoy!
