Ingredients

ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds Pork Shoulder, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 package Siete Carnitas Seasoning Slow Cooker Spice
  • 1 package Siete Almond Flour Tortillas

To serve

ingredients

  • fresh lime
  • minced white onion
  • chopped cilantro

Method

  • Step 1

Add the pork shoulder to a slow cooker with 1/2 cup of water and cook over low setting for 6-7 hours, or until tender. If using an instant pot, add pork with 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 35 minutes.

  • Step 2

Once pork is finished cooking, drain cooking liquid/fat, reserving 1/2 cup for carnitas.

  • Step 3

Add reserved fat/stock, and carnitas seasoning to the pot with pork. Mix well.

  • Step 4

For crispy carnitas, spread seasoned pork over a sheet tray and broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until crispy. Keep an eye on it so it does not burn.

  • Step 5

Heat the tortillas according to package instructions. Garnish the carnitas taco with onions, cilantro, and fresh lime.
