- 2 cups soya chunks
- 2 chopped potatoes
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- pinch asafetida
- 2 tablespoon powder coriander
- 1 tablespoon powder red chili
- 1 teaspoon crushed black pepper
Method
Step 1
Boil soya chunks with chopped potatoes and 1 cup of water in the pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
Step 2
In a pan heat oil. Temper bay leaf, cumin seeds, caraway seeds, asafetida, black pepper and red chili powder for a few seconds before adding in chopped tomatoes. Cook on high heat for a couple of minutes till the tomatoes are mushy and cooked.
Step 3
Add in boiled soya chunks and potatoes along with coriander powder. Cook till the sauce reaches desired consistency. Serve with basmati rice, roti or buttered toast.
