10 tbsp butter
3 tbsp all purpose flour.
2 cup milk
2 tsp salt
16 oz cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup heavy cream or half and half
1 lb cooked macaroni
1 tsp pepper
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
¼ cup breadcrumbs
Melt butter in a skillet. Add flour and whisk until combined. Add 1/4 cup of milk and whisk until smooth. Add in the rest of the milk. Stir in cheese and whisk until smooth and cheese is melted. Add heavy cream. Add in cooked macaroni and stir until all coated.
Whisk together eggs and pepper. Add to the pasta and mix to combine.
Preheat oven to 400˚F. Add macaroni to a cast iron skillet and top with parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
