"Sour cherry lemonade from My Kitchen Year, by @ruthreichl. The warm days of summer may be long over, but, a nice tart lemonade hits the spot any time of the year. Since fresh cherries are no longer in season, I substituted a large jar of imported sour cherries. This is so simple to make. Just purée and strain the cherries and add to it the juice of four lemons, a 1/2 cup of sugar, and serve over ice. Incredibly easy and a wonderful twist on a traditional lemonade. Also, you could add a splash of vodka, as Ruth suggests, and then you have a great cocktail. I think I might try that later tonight. This is for my #rainydaybitescookbookclub."

Recipe Intro From rainydaybites
Taken from Ruth Reichl’s latest cookbook, cherries are mixed with sugar, fresh-squeezed lemons and a splash of vodka. @rainydaybites used strained, jarred cherries as fresh were no longer in season. Fresh or jarred it sounds like the perfect way to celebrate summer year round.
