Half the book explores the four basic elements of cooking and the other half features recipes to practice your skills that you learned. If you haven’t seen the Netflix series based on this cookbook, stop what you are doing and watch it. You will be struck by Samin’s warmth, inquisitive nature, breath of knowledge, and her pure joy of eating delicious food. Samin leaves you wanting to cook and eat with her...so let’s get cooking!

Our second challenge is Fresh Ginger & Molasses Cake on p. 412 and the post date of Sunday, 11/25. Bonus optional challenge: make any of the Thanksgiving menu on p. 434 for Thanksgiving! You can make the challenge recipes whenever you want, but wait to post your photos until that specific day, for our global community recipe challenge.
