- For the meatballs:
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup blanched almond flour
- 3/4 teaspoon fine grain sea salt, divided
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning blend
- 1 pinch crushed red pepper, adjust for spice preference
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, optional
- For the sauce:
- 1 - 28 oz can crushed tomatoes with basil
- 1 - 14 oz can diced tomatoes with basil and garlic
- 1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1/2 Chopped medium onion
- 1 tablespoon Chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoon Chopped fresh oregano leaves
- 2 bay leaves
