Tofu burger

"Eating vegetarian doesn’t have to be boring but it does need to be balanced in order to get the right types of protein. Protein is made up of amino acids, 9 of which are essential, meaning that we need to get them from our diets. Getting all of the essential amino acids from our diet is a little more challenging when we’re eating vegetarian sources of protein as each source contains only some of the essential amino acids. So, how do we get all of the essential amino acids from a vegetarian meal? We combine protein sources. This means we either need to combine legumes + grains, grains + nuts & seeds or nuts & seeds with legumes. This burger contains tofu in the patty (legumes) + grains in the bun, making a complete protein. Other ways to combine sources would be to add nuts &/or seeds to oats, Dahl with brown rice, tofu stir-fry with quinoa... oh and let’s not forget hummus. Hummus has chickpeas + tahini, making it a complete protein as well. Now excuse me while I go and dream of devouring this burger..."
