Chocolate Berry Tart

For the Crust


  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 7 tablespoons vegan butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder

For the Filling


  • 3 cups mixed berries, plus more for garnish
  • 1 1/4 cups coconut milk
  • 1 (13.5 ounce) can coconut milk, only the hardened cream
  • 1 tablespoon agar agar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup


  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 375ºF.

  • Step 2

    Make the crust: Mix all ingredients and place dough in the fridge for 20 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Grease a tart tin, roll the dough and place into the tin. Bake for 15 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Make the filling: Blend the berries with the coconut milk and sieve into a saucepan. Add the other ingredients and bring to boil and simmer for 2 minutes while stirring. Let it cool down for a bit. Spread over the crust and place in the fridge over night. Top with fresh berries
