A Note from Feedfeed
As far as quintessential Boston experiences go, indulging in a lobster dish ranks pretty high. Using Land O Lakes® Deli American, I am creating a Lobster Croque Monsieur, inspired by Boston and New England's love for lobster. This Deli American is the perfect versatile sandwich ingredient: it's creaminess and meltability definitely make for a delicious Lobster Croque Monsieur.

ingredients
- 16 ounces cooked lobster
- 5 slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
- 4 slices bread
- Nutmeg to taste
- 4 teaspoon butter
- 2/3 cup milk
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon
- 2 teaspoon flour
Method
Step 1
Make bechamel sauce: melt 2 teaspoon butter in a pot over medium; when bubbles appear, add flour and whisk. Whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a boil, and cook until thick. Remove from heat, and season with salt and nutmeg.
Step 2
Spread two pieces of bread with bechamel sauce. Lay lobster on top of each; sprinkle with lemon; top each with a slice of Land O Lakes® Deli American; top each with a slice of bread.
Step 3
Brush the sandwich on both sides with butter, making sure that the edges are well covered. On the skillet, place sandwiches Deli American side down and cook on stove top until golden, then turn and cook until other side is golden.
Step 4
On a sheet pan, place sandwiches, top with bechamel sauce and one and a one half slice of Land O Lakes® Deli American (covering the top of bread is fully); broil until golden brown and Deli American is bubbling. Cut in half. Serve hot.
