Recipe Card

Shortbread Crust

ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cup coconut oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Basil Tart Filling

ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cashews
  • 3 tablespoons oat milk
  • 6 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 5 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 15 leaves basil

Shortbread Crust

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Step 2

    Mix all ingredients together. If too dry, add coconut oil until dough forms.

  • Step 3

    Press into tart pan delicately and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Basil Tart Filling

  • Step 1

    In a food processor blend all ingredients except coconut oil and basil.

  • Step 2

    Melt coconut oil

  • Step 3

    Stream in coconut oil slowly to the rest of mixture.

  • Step 4

    Roughly chop basil leaves, and toss into food processor.

  • Step 5

    Blend until smooth.

  • Step 6

    Pour the filling into the tart and refrigerate for an hour.

  • Step 7

    Top with chopped strawberries, cherries, or any berry you’d like!! Garnish with baby basil leaves!
