Spicy Deviled Crab Melts

As a New Englander, crab was a must for Marnely_Murray! She tops a fluffy, toasted piece of brioche with a spicy, deviled crab mixture and fresh tomato. Melt some Land O Lakes® Deli American on top and you have a twist on a classic melt!

  • 1 loaf fresh bread, brioche or focaccia, sliced into 1" slices
  • 1 can can crab meat, drained
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh scallions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2-4 farm fresh heirloom tomatoes, thick sliced
  • 10-12 slices Land O Lakes® Deli American Slices


  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven broiler. In a large bowl, mix the crab meat, mayonnaise, herbs, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 2

    Let the crab meat sit for 10-15 minutes and in the meantime, toast the slices of bread and butter on both sides. Place on a baking tray.

  • Step 3

    Place a full slice of Land O Lakes® Deli American Slices on the top of each toasted slice of bread, then top with a scoop of crab salad and a thick tomato slice. Using the rest of your Deli American, cut it into small squares and sprinkle over the top of the tomatoes.

  • Step 4

    Broil until the Deli American is melted and golden brown, sprinkle with black pepper and salt, plus any herbs you have leftover. Serve with a few slices of lemon, atop a salad of greens if desired.
