ingredients
- 3 slices of bacon
- 3 pitted dates, chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 8 ounces goat cheese, softened
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Method
Step 1
Place a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside on a paper towel to drain.
Step 2
To the same pan, add butter, brown sugar, coconut aminos, and Dijon mustard. Whisk continuously until the mixture is combined, and the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 3
Chop the cooked bacon and add it to the pan along with the chopped dates and pecans. Stir everything together and remove from heat.
Step 4
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese and cream cheese. Season with salt and mix until smooth and well-blended.
Step 5
Scoop the cheese mixture into a serving bowl and evenly spoon the warm bacon-pecan topping over the cheese.
Step 6
Serve immediately with your favorite crackers or sliced bread. Enjoy!
