"My latest obsession – a thick cauliflower, celery root & fennel soup! This time I added homemade #dukkah, #Harissa spice and gluten-free crouton leaves! (thanks @thejudylab and @elleventy for the inspiration!) I had so much fun trying to recreate a soup I had while taking @taraobrady’s workshop last month. There was something about her soup, the spices and the garnishes that kept reminding me of something. When I made a batch of dukkah last night (roasted hazelnuts, toasted sesame seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper – all blended together) my husband instantly said “wow that reminds me of Nepal"! That was it – the spices remind us of our travels throughout Nepal and the Himalayas. It’s really wonderful how smells can bring you right back to a place you were years ago. Everyone loved this hearty soup, with a splash of white truffle oil, and my kids loved the Thanksgiving touch with the crouton leaves! Perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon!"
