Plum Tarts With Phyllo Dough

Ingredients:

phyllo dough
butter (melted) or oil, for brushing
plums, cut into thin slices
sugar, to taste
lemon juice, to taste
milk (optional, for brushing)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 F
2. Place a sheet of phyllo dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with melted butter or oil. Top with a second sheet of phyllo dough and brush with butter or oil. Repeat for 6-8 sheets total (or thicker if desired)
3. Cut layered phyllo dough into 4x4 inch squares
4. In a bowl, mix sugar and lemon juice, to taste, and toss plums with mixture
5. Top phyllo squares with plum slices, leaving about a 1/2 inch border. Fold sides over and brush with milk if desired
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until phyllo dough is golden brown
7. Serve warm or allow to cool to room temperature (optional: top with powdered sugar or a drizzle of honey)
