#SimplyElevated Los Angeles Dinner with Austerity Vineyards

Back in 2017, when we first started working with Austerity Wines, we worked together to plan an event series that would take us to LA, Chicago and back to NYC highlighting some of our favorite chefs in those cities to create unfogettable dinners paired with Austerity's amazing wines. Those dinners were a huge success and we're back for a second year, with Austerity Wines, our amazing LA community and The MIghty in downtown LA.  
#SimplyElevated is all about celebrating the everyday, which translates to a wine that is robust in flavor yet affordable for even a weeknight dinner.   
 

Austerity is focusing on grapes from the lesser known coastal regions in California (Paso Robles, Arroyo Secco & Santa Lucia Highlands), which are quickly gaining notoriety as some of the fastest growing wine regions in the world.

For us, showcasing the wine is best done through food. We were excited to team up with Chef Karen Hatfield to create a seasonal menu driven by the complex flavor profiles of Austerity Wines. Focusing on handmade pastas and fire-roasted meats, the pairings highlighted the nuances of Austerity.

Gathering at Karen’s newest restaurant, The Mighty, our community settled in for an evening of good conversation, fantastic food, and even better wine. A new hot spot in DTLA, The Mighty has a bright and airy space where we grouped the tables together so that we could dine family style.
 
 
The menu created by Chef Hatfield and her team was exactly what we want to be eating. The dishes were composed, but not overly so, allowing each ingredient to shine. 
Chef Karen was gracious enough to provide the recipe for one of our favorite dishes, the Ricotta Agnolotti with speckled romaine, asparagus, pistachio, and blood orange. You can make this at home too! Click Here for the Recipe!
