Hot Honey Peanuts

(6)
"Spicy, sweet, salty, these hot honey peanuts are the perfect snack! We mix together pantry staples and roast them until they're all caramelized and delicious, but let them cool! Cooling lets the peanuts turn into a spicy brittle which is perfect for snapping into sections. Use these for a charcuterie board, as a salad topper, or for snacking on its own!"

ingredients

  • 2 cups unsalted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chili crisp
  • 3-4 chiles de arbol
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 325F.

  • Step 2

Pour peanuts, chili crisp, and honey into a bowl. Mix until the peanuts are thoroughly coated and taste for seasoning. If you are allergic to peanuts, feel free to swap for your favorite nut.

  • Step 3

Slice the dried chilis into 1 inch pieces and mix them into the peanut mixture.

  • Step 4

Line a baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil and spread the peanuts over it. The peanuts will crowd, but should be one even layer. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  • Step 5

Allow to cool completely, at least ten minutes. Snap the peanuts into desired sections and serve.
