Blender Salsa

This is the perfect recipe for when you need salsa ASAP. It all comes together in a blender and is full of bright flavors, perfect for a quick get together or an emergency snack. We used Red Gold Whole Peeled Tomatoes to make the process even easier and more delicious.

  • 2 cans Red Gold Whole Peeled Tomatoes
  • 1 white onion, quartered
  • 1 jalapeno, halved
  • 1 lime
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • tortilla chips, for serving


  • Step 1

    Drain the cans of Red Gold Whole Peeled Tomatoes and place the tomatoes in the blender.

  • Step 2

    In a skillet over medium high heat, warm up the canola oil. Sear the onion, jalapeno, and garlic on all sides until golden. Add the vegetables to the blender.

  • Step 3

    Add the juice of one lime to the blender. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of cilantro for serving and add the rest of the bunch to the blender, stems included. Cover and blend for 1 minute. Use a tortilla chip to taste for seasoning, add salt, and blend again for one minute.

  • Step 4

    Pour into a bowl, top the salsa with chopped cilantro, and serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!
