ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2/3 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2

Combine boxed brownie mix according to manufacturer's instructions. Place brownie batter into a 9x13 inch baking dish and smooth out into an even layer.

  • Step 3

Whisk together cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice in a medium sized bowl. Reserve about 2/3 of this mixture in a separate bowl. Add the pumpkin puree to the original cream cheese mixture and stir to combine.

  • Step 4

Starting with the white cream cheese batter, randomly dollop it onto the uncooked brownie batter. Do the same with the orange pumpkin mixture.

  • Step 5

Run a butter knife through the batter in a grid pattern to create a swirled effect. Do not over mix, you don't want the colors to completely mix together.

  • Step 6

Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove brownies from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes allowing everything to fully set. Finally cut and enjoy!
