"October is for chunky sweaters, fuzzy socks and..Octoberfest! There are brasseries and micropubs all abound in Montreal but I'm not much into beer so to get me in the mood, I like to make this sweet and spicy beer cocktail with fresh apricot syrup and a little serrano chile."
Apricot Serrano Beer Cocktail

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon homemade apricot syrup or preserves
1 slice serrano chile
1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
6 ounces pale ale or lager, chilled
2 ounces sparkling water
Directions:
Combine first three ingredients and gently muddle the pepper to release the spice.
Top with chilled beer and sparkling water. Sometimes I like to add a shot of mezcal to these cocktails, to seriously heat things up!
