Soft Boiled Eggs with Buttered Toast Soilders

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices ciabatta, toasted
  • butter, to taste
  • nigella seeds (optional) for sprinkling
  • sea salt, to taste


  • Step 1

    Bring 3 quarts of water to a boil then prepare an ice bath, set aside.

  • Step 2

    Add eggs to boiling water, cover and let simmer, for 6 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Remove eggs and plunge in ice water, when a little cooled, trim the tops with a sharp knife.

  • Step 4

    Serve with buttered toast and a sprinkling of nigella seeds and sea salt.
