  • 12 ounces gluten free pasta, cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 large avocado, pitted
  • 1 cup basil
  • 1/ 3 cup walnuts
  • 1 small lemon, juiced
  • 1/ 2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1/ 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/ 4 teaspoon pepper
  • crushed red pepper flakes, optional, for garnish


  • Step 1

    Cook pasta according to package, drain, and set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a high powered blender or food processor combine the avocado, fresh basil, walnuts, lemon juice, olive oil, nutritional yeast, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pulse ingredients until it becomes smooth and creamy.

  • Step 3

    Toss cooked pasta with the Avocado Pesto Sauce and eat immediately. Garnish with crushed red pepper (optional).
