ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 medium oranges, zested, peeled, pith and seeds removed, pulp roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dry fruit
  • 5 tablespoons sugar, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

Method

  • Step 1

    Boil milk in a pot. After the first boil, add chopped dry fruits and cook the milk on low flame until it thickens and changes color,about 40-45 minutes. Stir to ensure that the milk doesn't burn or stick to the bottom.

  • Step 2

    Once the milk is done, add sugar, mix well, and boil for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside to come to room temperature.

  • Step 3

    Once cooled, add the orange pulp and zest, mix and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours.

  • Step 4

    To serve, garnish with chopped dry fruit. Can be served cold or at room temperature. Do not reheat after adding orange!
