- 4 cups whole milk
- 2 medium oranges, zested, peeled, pith and seeds removed, pulp roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped dry fruit
- 5 tablespoons sugar, adjust to taste
- 1/ 2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Boil milk in a pot. After the first boil, add chopped dry fruits and cook the milk on low flame until it thickens and changes color, about 40-45 minutes. Stir to ensure that the milk doesn't burn or stick to the bottom.
Once the milk is done, add sugar, mix well, and boil for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside to come to room temperature.
Once cooled, add the orange pulp and zest, mix and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours.
To serve, garnish with chopped dry fruit. Can be served cold or at room temperature. Do not reheat after adding orange!
